Great Pollet Arch on the Fanad Peninsula, Co. Donegal, Ireland

Great Pollet Arch

In August we spent a week on the Fanad Peninsula in County Donegal. Our holiday home was just a short walk from the “Great Pollet Arch” and a perfect location for various expeditions.

The Great Pollet Arch is a striking example of the sheer power of the Atlantic Ocean as it constantly carves the cliffs along the irish coast and, as a result, creates such rock formations. But the Atlantic carves on and later generations may find enormous sea stacks instead of an arc right here.
