Tintern Abbey on the Hook Peninsula, Co. Wexford, Ireland

Tintern Abbey

Yesterday my photo tour for the new book about Ireland’s East Coast led me to the Hook Peninsula in County Wexford. Here I visited, among others, Tintern Abbey, a former Cistercian abbey dating back to the early 13th century. The ruin is idyllically embedded in a forest (which is currently smelling of wild garlic).
