The Breeches

Sea arches and sea stacks are not uncommon along the Donegal shores. Beside well-known examples such as the Great Pollet Arch there are a few arches off the beaten tracks. Like “The Breeches” at Crohy Head near to the town of Dungloe.

 

I visited the Breeches twice one morning at the end of August. On my first visit the tide was out and I was able to climb down and walk around the bay – but unfortunately it was to early to catch some sunlight. When I came back later on the light was great (see photo above) but the bay was under water now.

 

But well then, I will have to revisit Crohy Head once again…
