„It’s a lonely road through bogland to the lake at Carrowmore…“ starts a poem of the Irish poet and painter George William Russell from the early 20th century. About 100 years later nothing has really changed. The road from the north that we drove leads through unspoilt countyrside and is barely used. Very typical for County Mayo.
