Available now: Ireland & Scotland Calendars 2027

16 June 2026

My two new calendars, the Ireland Calendar 2027 and the Scotland Calendar 2027, are now available and can be ordered from my online shop as well as from bookshops everywhere.

The cover photo of the Ireland Calendar 2027 shows Murlough Bay in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, a place that for me embodies the essence of Ireland. Rich green hillsides, a solitary tree at the water’s edge, the deep blue of the sea beneath a wide sky. Anyone who has stood here will understand why the Emerald Isle never quite lets you go.

What has always fascinated me about Murlough Bay is that you can see the Scottish Mull of Kintyre in the distance. The two countries are just 25 kilometres apart at this point. I often found myself wondering what it might look like on the other side of the water when I was travelling in Northern Ireland. The histories of Ireland and Scotland are closely linked. The Gaelic kingdom of Dalriada once stretched across the north of Ireland and the southwest of Scotland. The Book of Kells, now on display in Dublin, was originally created on the Scottish island of Iona. And the legend of the giant Finn McCool and the Giant’s Causeway would be incomplete without its Scottish counterpart. I wanted to complete the picture and see Scotland with my own eyes.

After several trips and thousands of photographs, my Scottish adventure has now culminated in a first calendar in panoramic format, the Scotland Calendar 2027. The cover photo shows the cliffs at the Castle of Old Wick in Caithness. The monumental cliffs and the ancient castle ruins in the background stand for the variety of the Scottish coastline, which captivated me from the very first visit.
