Scotland constantly amazes me. Travelling through the country or along the coast, the landscape changes continually and it makes no sense to put the camera down even for a moment. When you think of Scotland, you tend to think of the Highlands, whose rugged beauty, characterised by rugged mountains, deep valleys and clear lochs, has a magical attraction. But Scotland's islands and coastal landscapes are just as impressive. From the dramatic cliffs of the north coast to the remote beaches of the Outer Hebrides, there is a coastline of breathtaking beauty away far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Incidentally, the most important "ingredient" for captivating landscape shots is the unpredictable Scottish weather. It contributes to the characteristic beauty and wildness of the Scottish landscape and helps to capture it in different moods and light conditions. My favourite photo spots in Scotland are the almost mystical Isle of Skye, the rugged coastline of the Orkney Islands, the wild and romantic Highlands, Islay and the always surprisingly varied east coast.
